Superkids: We learned all about grammar, spelling, and pronouns. We discussed how pronouns are special words that can be used in place of someone's name. As a class, we looked at 5 different sentences and deciphered where the pronouns (he/she) could be substituted for someone's name. In reading groups, we focused on distinguishing between characters in a literary text. To further develop reading comprehension, we read the story, "Help!" and discussed the problem and the outcome (solution) of the story.
Theme of the Week: This week, we've been learning all about Johnny Appleseed. In Writer's Workshop, we wrote about why Johnny Appleseed is a good citizen. Additionally, we did a directed drawing activity, which will be posted on our bulletin board!
*Please be sure your child is practicing their spelling words on a nightly basis. They have their Unit 1 Spelling Test on Friday.
